This Clip of Amrish Puri and Naseeruddin Shah as Small-Time Gangsters Should be Getting More Love

This is from a 1978 movie, “Hungama Bombay Ishtyle”, when the actors were hardly known to the masses

Still from “Hungama Bombay Ishtyle”

Random Google searches at 4am lead to wonderful results. Proof of that is this video, which is an introductory song to Amrish Puri’s character Jaggu Ustaad from the Siraj Ayesha Sayani directed 1978 movie Hungama Bombay Ishtyle. You can also notice a thin young man, Naseeruddin Shah, strutting alongside Puri. Naseer here plays Jaggu’s sidekick.

A children’s movie, Hungama Bombay Ishtyle was adapted from a play by Pearl Padamsee, who is also the main villain of the movie. It also stars actors like Mohan Agashe and Mohan Gokhale.

The good news is that a Mid Day report mentions that the movie has been re-mastered on DVD now and is available at the Children’s Film Society.

Btw, before you leave
