I would like to believe that Antiserious is anti-spotlight: it aims to democratise serious attention from a handful of issues of ‘inter/national importance’ to everything that constitutes our dailiness, the gun and the gum. Antiserious is anti-professionalisation of the literary space: it celebrates amateurism, the unfinished, literature not as highway but as staircase that accommodates falls, failures and fragments. Antiserious is anti-mono: the nose is, after all, not the only space that allows breathing. Antiserious is anti-LOL and anti-boohoo, anti tear gas and anti nitrous oxide. Antiserious is anti-linear: the straight line is the most difficult to draw because it does not exist. Antiserious is anti-serious: seriousness is terribly elitist. And Antiserious is also anti-anti.

Anti Serious is a serious stand against seriousness. It is not about cracking jokes and it is about cracking jokes. It is not a place to discuss trivia and it is a place to discuss trivia. We are trivial people. We are trivia. We take our trivia antiseriously. We like our crap but our trivia is not crap. Trivia is important. Personal is political. Political is seldom just political. AntiSerious is quite anti. Quite seriously anti. AntiSerious is not a graffiti. AntiSerious is not a movement. Anti institutionalization. Anti structure. Sometimes it’s for the anti but mostly it’s anti anti. Perhaps a proper definition would help our case. But we are anti definition too.
